TEMPERAMENTO
Interviewed by: Angela

ANGELA:
Controversy, Controversy, Controversy is what surrounds the man
that everyone calls TEMPERAMENTO. When did you get your start
in the music industry?
TEMPERAMENTO:
In 99 along the group "Mafia Negra" which had more then
15 rappers at the time I joined, Noztra was one of them as u know
he is doing his thing right now.
ANGELA:
Wow. Ok wait a sec. I met Mafia Negra at La Batalla de Los Gallos.
Is Mike Mic one of them?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Yes he was the founder of Mafia Negra but there was a time when
it was an Army of rappers from RI all the way to PR.
ANGELA:
Wow. That's nice. Why did you end up leaving the group?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Well I’m gonna keep it hood since u Gangster ha ha ha, I
had to put 2 of the members in their place and afterwards people
just kept leaving the group, something I regret since I would
have gone to the Grave for my Team.
ANGELA:
Me gangster. ha ha ha. I feel you. Wow. Do you still talk to the
team?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Yes, to almost all of them and even the ones I dont talk to….
I wish them the best they all are nice rappers.
ANGELA:
That's great! So how did you go from team member to "all
time diss-master"? ha ha ha.
TEMPERAMENTO:
Well I Wrote blood when it came to Hip Hop and never got the attention,
tried working with industry cats and never got the attention,
felt strongly they didnt want no one over shining them, so I got
to the point I had to do me, a lot of people left my circle when
I did because they thought people were going to ignore me but
as you can see I’m getting accepted by loyal fans who know
the truth is coming.
ANGELA:
Of course. You are blowing up over there. Are you ready to handle
all the fame?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Fame and money aren’t an issue for me, I’m dying one
day and my main goal is to put Latin hip Hop on top of the world,
I’ll let God give me what he thinks I should get by doing
so.
ANGELA:
Wow. That was a very unexpected answer. I am glad you feel that
way. That's nice to hear. Have you had any stalker fans yet? lol.
TEMPERAMENTO:
Oh man yes I have people from South America, Spain and everywhere
writing to me some deep stuff. I’ve had a dude that wrote
to me telling me he was dying in the hospital and for the 8 months
he was in bed with out walking and everytime his mother asked
him what he wanted from the store he told her batteries to listen
to me in his mp3 player. I also had a girl who’s her brother
killed himself and told her to tell me I was the only one who
kept him happy when no one was paying attention to him.
ANGELA:
Wow! That's LOVE. So can I ask you the question that I am dying
to have answered?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Yes
ANGELA:
What REALLY happened at the Batalla de Los Gallos? I was there
but I will be honest I was not happy about what happened there.
TEMPERAMENTO:
I got ROBBED, it only happens to the best of us. I’ll take
years for people to look back and understand what when on, I’m
the truth, thats all I can tell you. No one can take that away
from me. Since you mention the battle I want to give a shout out
to Mikey from Aventura. I feel bad for destroying him and I hope
he feels better.
ANGELA:
Is all that "beef" squashed? I heard that it was all
taken care of.
TEMPERAMENTO:
Once again since your so into the street life I’m going
to tell you the truth. They dissed me with the excuse that they
were going to do it because they wanted to help my career but
the hood knows it was because they were shook up and they knew
I put them in a position where they had no other choice but to
diss me. I put it on them in their own city making them look like
pussies. Next time they shouldn’t try to mess with a rapper
from "Providence". We are real up here.
ANGELA:
I have heard about the rough battles in Providence. Is that where
you learned how to "fight lyrically"?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Yes, up here there are a lot of rappers who love to battle and
they are real Hip Hop, the only thing is that no one ever put
401 in the Map and that’s where I come in. Providence is
full of real soldiers who don’t take shit from anyone and
that is the image that I have brought to the game, because in
the 401 there aren’t any cartoon rappers.
ANGELA:
Known primarily for "dissing", who are some of the rappers
that you have dissed on tracks so far?
TEMPERAMENTO:
I’m best known for destroying Tego Calderon, Vico C, Voltio
and of course the Bachata group that Raps. Ha ha ha.
I make Bachata cats rap that’s crazy, I’m proud of
myself.
ANGELA: Yea that is a pretty large accomplishment. Ha ha ha. Do
you have anything personally against Tego, Vico or Voltio or was
that all just on a business level to get out there?
TEMPERAMENTO:
All my disses are a way of letting the fans know on what level
I’m at when it comes to spitting fire, of course some rappers
are gonna take it personal because they are embarassed and sometimes
the people in the street take it further then it has to go. I’m
in a mind state that I don’t really care what anybody feels,
I’m a threat when it comes to this and no one is going to
be able to shut me up or think I’m gonna be cool with them
because they are on top. I don’t care if you are the number
one rapper or the number one radio host or DJ, which brings me
to give a shout out to Kassanova for trying to put Latin Hip hop
down. Temperamento is here to save the day.
ANGELA:
What artists have you collabed with?
TEMPERAMENTO:
I came out on the Gemstar and Big Mato album. I have worked with
the realest Spanglish group T-Weaponz, Thirstin Howl, Patota,
Wille Sante, Chino Chinese, Krook Rock, RNS, Noztra, Full Nelson,
those are the ones I got for my album. I would rather work with
cats I know personally and cats that deserve my respect.
ANGELA:
I can most definately understand that. How do you get your inspiration
to write your songs?
TEMPERAMENTO:
My life, my struggles, and Wille Sante, him and I have a bond
that no other rappers have. We have a mission and of course now
it’s more since Patota and my right hand man Spoonie June
and Caracas have joined the team.
ANGELA:
Wow. May I ask what your "mission" is?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Wow it is hard to explain, let me put it to you this way, when
I look at Sante I see his pain and it all reflects back to me.
I have this anger inside of me that only makes me work harder
until the day we both are on top of this Hip Hop game.
ANGELA:
How did you come up with the name TEMPERAMENTO?
TEMPERAMENTO:
We’ll just say I’m one of those people who are very
quiet and don’t mess with anyone, but once you get me mad
you’ll be shocked because another person comes out of me.
Like I tell people Temperamento and Cristian are two different
people…. Believe that.
ANGELA:
Wow. I do believe it. So when is your Cd " CADENA PERPETUA"
dropping?
TEMPERAMENTO:
My album is finished as of this month. We are living in the studio
to mix it down and master it. So if we drop independent by March,
if not u know how it is.
ANGELA:
Of course! What can we expect from your album? Do you have any
special secrets on it?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Ok let me try to make a picture for you. It’s very good.
I have a Mother Track, a dead homie track, a bochinchero track
for the haters, a crunk, 2 RNBs, one of them about a girl that
is being abused by her man, I have a Hip Hop Rock track that is
on another level, I have a track talking about the struggle in
the Block, a track talking to God, another one where me, Sante
and Patota talk about our lives (on my part I talk about how this
music is slowly making everything I love vanish and a lot more,
too much to explain.
ANGELA:
That sounds like a "life story" is that what theme you
were going for?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Yes Cadena Perpetua means Life Sentence, I’ll be 25 when
the album drops, I’m out and the world is going to hear
me now.
ANGELA:
Wow. So this is more than just an album drop for you. It's sort
of your industry "coming out in the music industry"
here to stay type of album. How excited are you about it?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Very excited because it’s all making sense to me, it was
up to God to make me get out when its my time and 2006 is my time.
I have served 25 years of suffering and the devil trying to make
me fall but I wake up every morning knowing it’s all in
Gods hands now. Nothing can stop me now.
ANGELA:
That is great! Well I believe in you. I have wanted to interview
you forever. So do you have an official website?
TEMPERAMENTO:
www.EpidemiaRecords.com as of now on the site there is only my
COMING SOON, which by the way looks like shit but there you will
be able to hear my intro of my album. We have someone new who
is handling the website hopefully It will be up by next month.
ANGELA:
Great! I can't wait to check it out. Make sure you let me know
when it gets up and running. Do you have anything to say to your
fans?
TEMPERAMENTO:
I don’t have fans I have followers. I don’t have to
say anything to them because they know what I’m all about.
I’m a spitting image of them. I don’t have a message
for the haters. I’m the only rapper that cares about real
rappers out there who are getting dissed by these fake money hungry
people in the industry. If you want to be mad at anybody be mad
at them. A lot of cats hate me because they get the chance to
talk to me in the NET, and all I have to say is, when your favorite
rapper takes time to come in here and talk to all u guys then
say something because I bet they don’t even care. That’s
why they are never here chatting with you guys. I’m the
truth, believe that. I’m here.
ANGELA:
Wow. Do you have any shout outs that you would like to give?
Yes
to Wille Sante, Patota Spoonie june, Caracas and all the Epidemia
Records, also to Everyone that has worked with us, all the Djs
like Dj Moet and the Commissioners, all my 401 heads, all my Latin
hip Hop heads, and Last but not least………Get
ready for "Boricuaz Mozt Wanted" Temperamento, Wille
Sante and Patota". Epidemia records " Porque es una
Epidemia"
ANGELA:
Is there anything else that you would like to add?
TEMPERAMENTO:
Yes want to give a shout out to all 4 of my baby momma’s
and my 4 Kidz. We all going to live together some day and I could
make mami's happy. Ha ha ha.
ANGELA:
Wow. Is that a joke or do you really have 4 babies mommas and
4 kids? Ha ha ha.
TEMPERAMENTO:
Everything that comes out of my mouth is true. God bless you.
You and all the people supporting me are a blessing to me, Peace.
ANGELA:
Thank you very much for taking time out to talk to me and the
Indie Street Latino Readers. We appreciate it.
TEMPERAMENTO:
No doubt, I’ll see you again soon.
ANGELA:
Very cool. Come visit us in Chicago and tear it up here soon.
