REGGAETON
KINGS
Interviewed by: Angela
Angela:
You guys are getting quite a big buzz going around. I have already
heard of you from 2 different sources and I trust their judgment
when they say that you are doing BIG things? How did you guys
get together and decide to form a group?
REGGAETON
KINGS: We met in Las Vegas at a U.T.I. music meeting and decided
to collab on a song called Pegate this song seemed to be favored
by everybody that heard it and from there on we just decided to
work together....
Angela: Oh ok. That's great. Well it's obviously working if I
am catching your buzz all the way from here in Chicago. How did
you decide upon the name Reggaeton Kings?
REGGAETON
KINGS: The name "Reggaeton Kings" was a name decided
on for a couple of different reasons...Uti our manager said it
would catch peoples interest. Rafa said he decided he liked the
name cause he was going to put 100% into his music and he was
going to take the industry over. I Erick decided I liked the name
cause after all the struggling I been through to become a artist
I deserved the crown...
Angela: How
has everyone treated you since your start in the music industry?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Well Angela we’ve been through a lot...Some positive
situations some negative. But thanks to our fans all the negatives
just disappear.
Angela: That's
great. Fans can make any bad situation better. Do you have an
official website?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Yes our website is utimusicinc.com...
Angela: How
do you go about promoting your music and your website?
REGGAETON
KINGS: We promote our website on all the local events and activities...
Angela: What
do you hope to accomplish before the end of 2006?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Angela we have a couple of goals. One is to finish the
construction of our new studio. We also want to finish another
mix tape and of course our platinum album.
Angela: Ok
great! How do you describe your style of music?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Different..."pa las ladies"
Angela: Ha
Ha. Ok. Got you. That's always a nice touch. How often are you
in the studio recording?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Every night for 4 hours...
Angela: Wow.
That's dedication. Have you dropped your first album yet? If not,
when is it set to drop? If so, how is it doing for you?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Well first we need to finish our 2nd mix tape...and maybe
in December.
Angela: Ok.
What is your mix tape going to be called?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Our mix tape is going to be called "Bajo La Influencia".
Angela: Oh
ok. Which one of you does the writing for your songs?
REGGAETON
KINGS: We both do.
Angela: Oh
ok. Are your songs based on real life personal experiences?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Yeah a lot of them are...
Angela: Ok.
What is each of your FAVORITE songs that you have written and
why?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Respira without a doubt....Respira means to breathe everybody
has to breathe....specially when they hear the song......
Angela:
That is both of your favorites?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Yeah I also like Nunca Volvera because its based on a relationship
I had in the past that stole a piece of my heart....
Angela: Awwww.
What are some of the thoughts in your mind before you go on stage?
REGGAETON
KINGS: How many girls am I taking to the hotel tonight.... Just
playing both of us agree on the same thought... we wonder how
the crowd’s reaction is going to be.
Angela: How
do you feel once you are up there and you know the crowd is feeling
your songs?
REGGAETON
KINGS: We get more hype...and all the hard work pays off.
Angela: Do
you have a signature saying that you use in your music?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Not really...we try to be authentic and different every
time never sounding the same...
Angela: Ok.
I got you. Have you had the chance to collab with other artists
yet?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Yes we did something with Jonnyboy a local Chicano rapper
signed with Universal Records. The songs name is Latinos.

in the music business?

playing in a lot of different places.... Also even getting compensed
for some of our shows.... It’s finally paying of after all
that work...
Angela: Do
you have any advice for other up and coming artists?
REGGAETON
KINGS: Don’t give up, promote hard every way you can, find
management because its almost impossible to make it on your own,
don’t expect to make money in the beginning without having
a buzz and last but not least have faith in god and all your team
players...
