MANNY
Y BEBE
Interviewed by: Angela

MANNY: How u doing Mrs. Angela?
Angela:
I am doing great. Having so much talent come out of one family
has to be a crime. Do you find it easier working together since
you are brothers?
MANNY:
Yes definitely, we understand each other and when things get a
little rough we always reach out for one another and of course
the respect is always there...
Angela:
That is exactly how I can picture it! Which one of you decided
to do music first?
MANNY:
Well I always dreamed of either being a dancer or sing/rap someday
and my brother Bebe has always been more quiet but as we grew
up we always had the same taste, just different ways of expressing
ourselves but at the end its was kind of both of our decision...I
took the first step and he just kind of followed...but it was
both of our decision.
Angela:
Yea I did notice that he was quiet. When did you guys decide to
go ahead and start taking it seriously and start producing and
recording original material?
MANNY:
We started taking it really seriously after the first year. Well
we have always recorded original material we believe if we stay
original we will have a better chance of making it in the music
industry.
Angela:
Which one of you does the writing?
MANNY:
Both...but we help each other out and ask for opinions from each
other.
Angela:
Nice. Do you guys have English songs as well?
MANNY:
Right now what we have put out is only Spanish but yes definitely
we are working on English songs…but that’s a secret...ha
ha ha.
Angela:
Where do you get your inspiration for your songs?
MANNY:
To be honest with you we love Reggaeton but when it comes to singing/rapping
we try to go more from what we feel and know so I will say from
life itself and reality. We had gone through a lot together so
I feel that we always write from our heart no matter what song
it is.
Angela:
How many albums have you recorded so far?
MANNY:
As of right now only 1. We started alone with no help and we are
still alone and thanks to God we have learned a lot about the
industry and we feel it’s not about how many albums or how
many songs is about what impression did you leave in every album
and every song so we want to make sure that the newest album is
definitely a lot better then the previous 1.
Angela:
Nice. When is that one coming out?
MANNY:
Well the 1st one just came out in September of 2005 so right now
we are concentrating more on doing featurings and performing to
get our names out and if God permits either by the end of the
year or so we might have another album out.
Angela:
What was your first album called?
MANNY:
"PA Q TE ACUERDES MAMI" The title tell it all. Ha ha
ha
Angela:
Where is that available?
MANNY:
Online...CD BABY cdbaby.com, TOWER RECORDS towerrecords.com and
local store around the Chicago suburbs, California, Boston and
Florida.
Angela:
How is "PA Q TE ACUERDES MAMI" doing for you so far?
MANNY:
So far is good but of course it can be better but thanks to God
our songs are getting played on radio stations in California,
Texas, Florida, Boston and some online radio stations and that
sometimes is more important then your album sales. We believe
that sales and fame is not everything right now we need to go
out there and get our name out then from there everything else
will fall into place.
Angela:
Exactly. You guys are definitely on the right track. You have
shared the stage with many big artists, have you gotten the chance
to record with any of them yet?
MANNY:
No not yet...ha ha ha but sharing the stage with this artist is
very exciting and we thank God for the opportunity. I mean right
now you have people that are known that wish they can do what
some of the things we had a accomplish and we wish we can be where
they are at but everyone will get their time to shine we just
make sure to be patient and make sure we earned it so we can appreciate
it and not let it pass us by.
Angela:
Wow. You guys are so humble. That's great! Who are some of the
artists that you would eventually like to collab with?
MANNY:
Well if God gives us the opportunity we will like to collab with
Tempo, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Zion & Lennox, Wisin &
Yandel, Hector "El Father" etc... But really we will
collab with anyone as long as we can work together to help each
other not to just benefit one and not the other.
Angela:
I hear you on that one. How would you describe your musical style?
MANNY:
Well our musical style is unique and we try to be as original
as possible so I will say our musical style is Manny & Bebe
style...ha ha ha.

Angela: What do you hope to accomplish before the end of 2006?
MANNY:
Well we hope our group will have a solid name by then and hopefully
if God permits get a good signing bonus...ha ha ha
Angela: What is your official website?
MANNY:
Well for right now we have www.mannyybebe.s5.com but will be getting
a new one soon and we also have the http://www.myspace.com/mannyybebe
Angela: Ok, I will put that one down but you have to promise to
come back and tell me when you have the new one done so that I
can update your facts.
MANNY: NO PROBLEM! And you have to promise to stay in touch...
Angela:
Always! You know I will! How do you promote yourselves, your music
and your sites?
MANNY:
Word of mouth, online, events, flyers etc..
Angela:
Nice. Is there anything that you would like to say to fans and
other up and coming musicians?
MANNY:
Well to fans we will like to say THANKS A MILLION for all your
support we REALLY appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
To other artists out there stay true to yourself wait patiently
and don’t give up your time will come "GOOD THINGS
COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT".
Angela:
Very good advice. Do you have anything else that you would like
to add?
MANNY:
Yes we will like to thank you and the magazine for this chance
and for also supporting us if it wasn’t for people like
you we wouldn’t have new fans and our careers will be harder.
