Huellas Del Tiempo (formerly known as Emphasis) with it's one of a kind sound, inspiring lyrics, and soft and enticing vocals, are ready to leave their mark in the world of Bachata. This group composed of three talented young men from Queens, NY, Mikey, Jeffrey and JD, are ready to explode, and under the wings of Lenny Santos' (Aventura) new label Blueblood The Royal Empire, Huellas del Tiempo will take Bachata to new heights.
They where introduced to Lenny by Junior "Perro" 2nd guitarist of the group, and as soon as he heard their unique sounds he knew that they where something special. The sweet lyrics and soft vocals of JD, accompanied by Mikey's soulful rock-like guitar and Jeffrey’s venomous bass percussion, make this group distinctive in it's sound and look. Coming from humble backgrounds, Huellas del Tiempo, bring not only something new to Bachata, but also something special.

How do you feel that Bachata has evolved in the past couple of years?
I think bachata has evolved a great deal in the last couple of years mainly because of the new ideas that have been incorporated to its original concept.

Do you classify the music that you play as Bachata?
Bachata music is Dominican Blues for us, is a way for us to sing about feelings that we might be experiencing or that someone could also feel. To answer your question, yes but with a modern touch.

Do you play music other than Bachata?
When we perform live we also play merengues but personally we all have different tastes in music. Example- Mikey the lead guitarist is into rock, flamenco, blues. Jeffrey aka. Veneno the bass player, his thing is Jazz. For me I love any kind of music.

Have you been on tour yet?
Yes. We did a tour to the Dominican Republic in November 2004.

If so who did you go with or was it a tour on your own?
It was a promotional tour for the group, once there we performed with different well known groups in the country such as Anthony Santos.

Do you have clubs or events that you normally perform at? Where?
The group was finishing it’s first album, so we were on a hiatus for a while but now we are performing again. We will be performing May 21st in Mambo Café in Danbury CT.

Do you ever get the chance to go out and party other than when you are doing a concert?
Very rarely because in some ways you’re always working for the group and it’s alot of work.

What is your ideal night on the town?
Going out with your friends and forgetting all your responsibilities at least for that night.

Are you guys single?
Yes.

How old are you?
We are all in the mid-twenties.

Where is your main fan base?
Our main fan base is here in NY. We are very fortunate because we are a new group and we already have a lot of fans.

Do you have fans outside of the USA?
Yes, mainly in the Dominican Republic. There is even a fan club that was started when we went on tour.

How many times have you been in the studio to record?
We just finished our first album titled Chapter 1, which is due out summer 2005.

What are some of the things that you bring with you to the studio when you go for a day of recording?
Our instruments, pen and papers, and a lot of patience.

Where did your name originate and what does it mean to you?
The name Huellas Del Tiempo originated one day in the studio when Lenny Santos executive producer of the group asked us to come up with a name that meant something unique, and Junior aka Perro suggested Huellas Del Tiempo or Signs of the Time. That name means that we are what bachata has become.

What is a typical free day for each of you in the group?
A free day for us is like any normal day. We’re big baseball fans so some of us catch a baseball game and like going to the movies.

How would you describe your music in your own words?
Refreshing.

Is your music exclusively in Spanish or do you have English songs too?
Spanish with some English hooks.

How do you feel that everyone has treated you since you started in the music biz?
The general response has been great, but we have all lost some friends because music takes up most of your time.

Is there any new albums, demos, videos or anything else that is scheduled to be released in 2005?
Yes.

If so, can you tell us about them?
We are looking forward to the release of our first album Chapter 1, Summer 2005.

Well when the album is released you could buy it in any record store or online as we’re in a internet era now .

How do you promote your music & website?
Our webmaster Perro aka Junior is part of a network of mostly the biggest spanish websites on the internet and who are big supporters of the group as well. Also we have great promoters who get our music out there to the people.

What radio stations are currently playing your songs?
We’re currently working on getting our song on La Mega97.7fm here in New York. And in Dominican Republic we we’re programmed on over a dozen radio stations during the winter that is a lot of airplay.

What do you hope to accomplish before the end of 2005?
I think that is a quite simple answer and that is to finally achieve our dream of becoming stars which we have so much years trying to achieve and now thanks to Lenny Santos from Aventura we are finally closer to making it happen.

Is there anything that you want to say to your fans and other up and coming musicians?
We’d like to tell all our fans that we love them and thank them for all the support they have been giving us, since fans are who make an artist and without them we would be nothing. To up and coming musicians don’t ever give up your chance will come one day we’ve been doing this for a long time and now is when we got our break.

Huellas Del Tiempo (antes conocido como Emphasis) con un sonido unico, líricas inspirantes, y voces suave estan listo para dejar su marca en la musica de Bachata. Este grupo integrado por tres jovenes dominicanos talentosos de la area de Queens, Nueva York Mikey JD y Jeffrey estan listos para captivar el publico Y bajo la direccion de Lenny Santos del grupo Aventura y su disquera Blue Blood The Royal Empire llevaran a la Bachata a grandes altura.
El grupo fue introducido a Lenny por Junior " Perro" segundo guitarrista del grupo y al escuchar su sonido único el sabia que estos jovenes eran algo especial. Las líricas dulces y las voz suave de JD, acompaZados por el estilo unico de rock - soul de Mikey en la guitarra y la percusión baja venenosa de Jeffrey hacen que este grupo sea distinto en su musica y en su imagen. Siendo personas humildes, Huellas Del Tiempo no solamente traen algo nuevo a la Bachata, pero tambien algo especial.

Como se sientan ustedes que se ha desarrollado la Bachata en los ultimos años?
Creo que la bachata a evolucionado mucho en los últimos años y la razon por eso es las ideas nuevas que han sido incorporada en el concepto original.

Ustedes clasifican el tipo de musica que tocan o cantan como Bachata?
Bachata es la musica de amargue para nosotros los Dominicanos. Es una manera para expresar nuestros sentimientos hacia algo o alguien de importancia para nosotros. Para contestarle su pregunta, si pero con un toque moderno.

Ustedes tocan o cantan otro tipo de musica aparte de la Bachata?
Cuando tocamos fiestas, aparte de bachatas tambien tocamos merengues. En lo personal todos tenemos gustos diferente. Ejemplo Mikey el guitarrista principal le encanta el rock, flamenco, y el Jazz.

Ustedes no han estado en una gira?
Si. Estuvimos de gira en La Republica Dominicana en Noviembre del 2004.

Y si es que si conquien fueron o fue una gira solo para el grupo?
Fue una gira promocional para el grupo, ya estando alla, tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir el escenario con diferente agrupaciones del pais. Ejemplo Anthony Santos.

Tienen algunos clubs o eventos que normalmente tocan? Donde?
El grupo estaba terminando la primera produccion musical, pero ya regresamos a los ecenarios. Nos vamos a presentar Mayo 21 en Mambo Cafo en Danbury CT.

Ustedes consiguen la ocasión para salir y divertirse, aparte de cuando estan en concierto?
Muy raro, porque uno siempre de una manera o otra siempre esta trabajando para el grupo. Es mucho trabajo.

Cuál es su noche ideal en la ciudad?
Salir con amigos/amigas y olvidar todas las responsabilidades aunque sea solo por solo esa noche.

Son todos ustedes solteros?

Si.

Cuantos años tienen cada uno?
Todo estamos en los Veintes.

Donde esta su fanbase pricipal?
Nuestra base principal de fanaticos es aqui en NY. Somos bien afortunados que con ser un grupo nuevo tenemos tantos fanaticos.

Ustedes tienen admiradores fuera de los Estados Unidos?
Si, en La Republica Dominicana. Cuando estuvimos de gira, iniciaron un fan club para el grupo.

Cuántas veces han estado en un estudio grabando?
Acabamos de terminar nuestra primera produccion titulada Chapter 1 la cual saldra al Mercado en el veramo del 2005.

Cuáles son algunas de cosas que traen al estudio el dia de grabación?
Nuestro instrumentos, lapis, papel y mucha pasiencia.

Cuando fue originado tu nombre y cual es el significado?
El nombre Huellas Del Tiempo nace un dia en el estudio cuando Lenny Santos nos pide que buscaramos un nombre que significara algo unico. Junior-Perro propuso el nombre Huellas Del Tiempo que significa lo que la bachata se a convertido.

Cual es su tipico dia libre para cada uno de ustedes?
Los dias libres para nosotro son normales. Nos gusta el baseball y algunos vamos a ver un juego y los otros van al cine.

En tus propias palabras, como describirias tu musica?
Refrescante.

Tu musica es exclusivamente en Español o tambien en Ingles?
En Español con algunas fraces en Ingles.

Como te han tratado la gente desde que comensastes en tu carera musical?
La respuesta en general a sido muy Buena, pero todos hemos perdido amigos porque la musica nos coje la mayoria del tiempo.

Algunos projectos nuevos, demos, videos o cualguier otra cosa para el año 2005?
Si.

Y si es que si, cuentenos algo sobre eso?
Estamos esperando el lansamiento de nuestra primera producción musical Chapter 1 en el verano 2005.

Cuando el cd este a la venta ya me imagino que lo podran comprar en su disco tienda favorita al igual que por el internet como ya todo el mundo hace todo por el internet.

Como promueves tu musica y website?
Nuestro administrador de la pagina pertenece a un network de los websites hispanos mas popular del internet cuando se refiera a musica y entretenimiento. Tambien tenemos varios promotores que se encargan de promovernos por todas partes.

Cual estasiones de radio estan presentemente tocando tu musica?
Actualmente estamos trabajando en colocar nuestra cancion promoccional en la Mega97.7fm aqui en Nueva York, En la Republica Dominicana estubimos programado en mas de una docena de estaciones radiales durante el invierno.

Que esperas lograr antes de terminar el año 2005?
Esa respuesta es bien fácil y eso es poder cumplir nuestro sueño de ser artistas famosos lo cual hemos trabajado tan duro durante tantos aZos para poder lograr y hoy gracias a Lenny Santos del grupo Aventura estamos mas serca en poder lograrlo.

Queremos decirle a nuestros fanaticos que gracias de todo corazon por el apoyo que nos han dado porque sin ellos no fueramos nada y no estuvieramos aqui. Los fanaticos so los que hacen a los artistas. A los aspirantes a musicos que no se de por vencida que algun llegara su oportunidad.
