FRANKIE
BIGGZ
Interviewed by Angela
Who is in your group and
what do they do or play? Who's in my group? I have the greatest
hype guy an M.C. could ever have, his name is D.I.P. , with out
this guy on stage with me, it would be pretty hard, but together
we rock the crowd right. I'm still in the process in looking for
a D.J. right now. As far as anyone else, I have a whole stage
crew right now that I work with on the bigger type shows, people
like video editors, camera operators, and sound guys..
Where did your name originate and what does it mean to You?
This
is a great question, my name came from my whole family, when I
was a little punk, they'd all call me "Chunky" Well
that stayed with me through the years and one day my older brother
was making fun of me by calling me " MC Frankie Chunky "
so I was like " I'm big I ain’t chunky" and then
I stopped short and was like "Frankie Biggz" It was
like BAM ! there it is " Frankie Biggz".
How would you describe your music in your own words?
DETROIT...and trust me , I get this a lot, my style is my own,
however people tell me that I sound a lot like
a " Latin Eminem " it's not in my voice as much as it's
in my flow, but really, that flow comes from being around Mc’s
in Detroit, and having the opportunity to produce a couple of
these katz. people say to me a lot, " Why you wanna rap like
Eminem dog." First off, I'm NOT trying to! And second off,
by saying that to me whether you like me or not, is comparing
me to him, and I'll take that comparison as a compliment. That
Mother Fucker (Eminem) sells a lot of records and has the Best
Production money can buy, I on the other hand am Producing myself
as well as writing , so when I'm being compared to him, I think:
all I gotta do is sell about 5% of what that man sells to his
own audience and I'll be COOL! 5% of 25 million copies sold. That’s
a lot of fucking Records in the Latin Industry. You do the math,
So Thanks for the comparison STUPID !
Is your music exclusively in Spanish or do you have English songs
too?
My
record as of this moment is in English , however through the next
few month I'll be in Miami Fla. working with my A&R team in
translating the English into Spanish as well. I'll be one of the
few people ever to release two records at the same time in English
and in Spanish world wide.
How do you feel that everyone has treated you since you started
in the music biz?
That’s
a loaded question for sure. Having to deal with two labels, One
on the English side and the other for the Spanish, can be a real
treat indeed. Sometimes it's hard to understand what it is that
they wanna do with me. One label feels this way, and the other
feels another way. so I'm caught in the middle, But they treat
me with a lot of respect, and I think the biggest reason is because
number one, I'm producing this record by myself, and number two,
I'm engineering it, and mixing it by my self .So all together
what I do as Frankie Biggz is really a rare thing to find in any
industry. They've giving me with a lot of creative control in
my career, so for me that’s a lot of respect shown on both
sides.
Is
there any new albums, demos, videos or anything else that is scheduled
to be released in 2005?

you'll be able to pick it up just
