CIELO: Hey wassup!

ANGELA: Hey you. At what age did you realize your love for music?

CIELO: Humm. Well I would say since junior high when I was about 12.

ANGELA: What was your music of choice back then?

CIELO: Well I grew up partly in California so my shit was 2 Live Crew/ Too Short/ Ice Cube/ Dr. Dre and those oldies but goodies cuzz that was the homies music. Lol

ANGELA: Nice. I remember those days. lol.

CIELO: Like Mary Wells….Biz Markie...lol….Tribe Called Quest of course

ANGELA: Were you making up your own songs back then?

CIELO: No, my best friend and me knew basically all the lyrics to songs/we would actually write them out in her room and jam! lol
Our favorite was "Me So Horny" lol

ANGELA: lmao. omg I LOVED that song. When did you start writing your own lyrics?

CIELO: Right! It was ridiculous! How we loved that. Lol Well I started with poetry I saw my friend at the Nuyoricans one night and I was like Damn! I could do that so we formed a little duo and started writing and performing together our first piece was called "Choice".

ANGELA: Nice. Who was your friend?

CIELO: This girl who goes by the name of Low-Key, my long time girl she's like a sister to me.

ANGELA: Oh ok. Cool. Do you write all of your own lyrics?

CIELO: Yup. Most Definitly.

ANGELA: You have been featured on the roof and on Sabado Gigante. How did that come about?

CIELO: Well, The Roof was through a good friend of mine who got me on and Sabado Gigante I auditioned for a couple of times then i forgot about it and when they called me my mom almost went through the roof. She adores that show.

ANGELA: Awww. That's great. PR-Ism told me that you guys had a TON of fun when you went there. How did you like it?

CIELO: Yeah it was cute she couldn't wait to see me on "Don Fransisco!". Man! I loved it! Tthe people I met are great people we all clicked! Chicago people are mad cool and I was learning all there slang it was funny and the peeps from Puerto Rico man! what can I say they were the sweetest and loving peeps. It felt like we all shared the same dreams and we supported each other

ANGELA: That's the best, when you go out of state and still get love from everyone! Where else have you been to perform?

CIELO: Well I performed a lot in NY @ SOB’S and this year, pretty soon I'm planning on finally going to visit my native Colombia, as a matter fact with Los Nandez, you know them right? Of course you do! Lol

ANGELA: Yes. They are very nice. That's great!

CIELO: Yeah my sister also started a bi weekly party called "AfterLight" out in NY so imma be holding down there with some MCing and some performances! We need to keep the movement moving! Ya know.

ANGELA: Of course! You have 2 cd's out now. Your debut album "Cielo - Live and Learn" and your FIX tape, "Taking Da Bull by Da Cuernos". Do you have anything new (videos, cd's, etc) coming out this year?

CIELO: I thought about a video but right now i’m more about trying to find out where I want to go lyrically I feel like I'm all over the place I wanna narrow down on something specially with the whole Latino thing going...

ANGELA: Oh ok. I feel you. That's cool.

CIELO: Yeah I kinda feel like I'm at a cross road but I'm figuring some things out I’m going to send you a few new tracks I got that should give you a feel of where I'm trying to go with this.

ANGELA: Ok, nice. How do you feel that everyone has treated you so far in the music industry?

CIELO: You know that’s a nice question... with nothing but love it’s a beautiful thing we all share the same vision and they have been very supportive guys and girls alike but u know how these shows can really be sausage fests! the guys come up to me and they are like, “Nice! you sound hot”, nod their heads and walk by lol so it's cool.

ANGELA: Hell yea girl. You hit the nail on the head with that one. Lol

CIELO: I'm like where my girls at? all 10 of u! lol

ANGELA: lol. Hahahahahahaha

CIELO: You know. Lol

ANGELA: That's great. So you haven't experienced any haters so far in the industry?

CIELO: Well let me think humm let me keep thinking lol ...not really unless... they were undercover haters!! Lol

ANGELA: That's great! Do you have an official website?

CIELO: You know thats funny I just took it down lol it was Cielotunes.com but don't even bother writing that because it’s down now! But I will get on that Myspace thing really soon that the entire planet seems to be on

ANGELA: lol. I am there too!!!!! I LOVE it!!!! You can meet everyone there, lots of connects!

CIELO: Everyone keeps asking me “Are you on myspace?” oh my God my sister is a myspace addict!

ANGELA: What is your favorite thing about making music?

CIELO: man I enjoy the entire process! the best I would say is listening to a beat and getting a feel of what u wanna do on it then that hook pops in!

ANGELA: Do you enjoy writing more or freestyling more?

CIELO: You know it depends when i’m blasted freestyling throwing shit out there is mad fun but otherwise I enjoy writing a good song.

ANGELA: Oh ok. Where are the majority of your fans from?

CIELO: Right here in my crib! Lol I think Japan! Seriously on cdbaby I get a lot of hits from Japan! I have a lot of young 15 year olds who feel my stuff and that's very important to me

ANGELA: That's great! What is it that you hope to get out of the music industry? What do you see yourself doing in 5 yrs?

CIELO: Honestly, I see myself out there as a strong representative of Hip Hop en Español! I want to word play in Spanish the same way some of my favorite artists word play in English.

ANGELA: That's a good goal

CIELO: Thanx! I appreciate that.

ANGELA: Do you have anything that you would like to say to other up and coming artists?

CIELO: Yes... here it goes... Be prepared to work harder than hard in this game nothing comes easy! (well for most of us!) Maybe that wasn’t so much on a lighter note but it's the truth.

ANGELA: Truth is good! How about your fans? Is there any message that you have for them?

CIELO: "Take this ride with me...you will not be disappointed"

ANGELA: is there anything else in your career that you have done or are about to do that you think everyone needs to know about?

CIELO: I did some acting in an off-broadway play called; "Corner Wars” it was a Hip Hop play! so cool! and i did a a Nike commercial when I was in LA, that was fun. So I would say Acting…. I am a drama queen!

ANGELA: Ahhhhhhhhhhh so you are an actress too! Cool. Do you have any plans to do any more acting?

CIELO: Yeah. In the future my most important now is this music because I get to play all parts for now.

ANGELA: What do you mean all parts?

CIELO: Well I get a beat even if its an industry one I write what I want on it / produce it / and put it out, all on my own with no direction (for now tho’)
