Al Stylo: Hi Angela

Angela: Hi Al Stylo. At what age did you get your start in the music industry?

Al Stylo: I started when I was 15 years old. I was inspired by different artists like Vico C.

Angela: How did you know that it was what you wanted to do?

Al Stylo: Because it caught my attention and I loved music a lot.

Angela: How would you describe your music style?

Al Stylo: My music is creative and unique. I can sing different styles of music and I'm a versatile person.

Angela: Nice. I was there when you won the Batalla De Los Gallos this year in NY in Sept. How did that victory make you feel?

Al Stylo: It made feel good because it was something that I never did before, competing w/ different people from different places, including artists that I know and showing the people that I was capable to win the battle with a lot famous judges.

 

Angela: How did you do in the finals in Puerto Rico?

Al Stylo: It was something different, a new experience than what we did here in NY there it was more hip hop style and it was people from other countries.

Angela: How did you do in that one?

Al Stylo: Well there were 12 competitors worldwide and they were all more into hip hop than me. I'm more into Reggaeton and R&B but I did good there. I went until the finals there too.

Angela: Have you ever been in a music group?

Al Stylo: Yes until this summer. Our group name was LOS BRABUCONES

Angela: Why did you break up?

Al Stylo: Because my partner that I was working had some inconveniences and problems and I decided to handle it by myself as a solo artist.

Angela: Do you believe that you are able to do bigger things alone, is it working out?

Al Stylo: Yes 100%

Angela: Nice. So what events have you performed in this year?

Al Stylo: I have been in different parades in New York, like the Puerto Rican and Dominican Parades. I did shows here at different clubs, festivals, etc… I performed with different famous artists this summer too, like Oscar De Leon and others.

Angela: Are there any big artists that you would LIKE to record with?

Al Stylo: Yes, Daddy Yankee, Hector El Father, Notch, Eminem, Marc Anthony, Victor Manuel and more.

Angela: Cool Cool.

Al Stylo: I forgot to tell you that me and my partner won the Mega Stars of a radio station 97.9 in NY.

Angela: In what year?

Al Stylo: 2004. They going to put 1 of our songs on the radio soon.

Angela: Nice, that’s great! You were also on Telemundo in the past?

Angela: You have been on Telemundo in the past?

Al Stylo: Yes we made a song make for the show that is on Saturday, called BAILANDO 2.

Angela: Cool. I have also heard mention of something called LATIN SUPER STAR, What is that?

Al Stylo: It is a contest where different people in the music business compete for a record deal and $25,000 cash.

Angela: Wow and you won second place in that contest? That’s really good. You are very talented.

Al Stylo: Thanks a lot.

Angela: Do you have any new material coming out soon?

Al Stylo: Yes I have a lot of new songs and collabos coming soon too, good stuff.

Angela: Is a new album coming soon?

Al Stylo: Yes, I am working on it if GOD permits.

Angela: When?

Al Stylo: I am not too sure when but it’s coming soon.

Angela: Nice. So how did you come up with the name Al Stylo?

Al Stylo: Because Al is for Alvin and Stylo is that I’m versatile and I have my own style.

Angela: Ok. Nice. So has everyone been good to you since you started in the industry or has there been a lot of haters?

Al Stylo: A lot of people start good at the beginning but they say something to try to help me out but at the end it’s a different story. It is hard to trust people who talk a lot and never make it real. Like always there are a couple of haters.

Angela: Wow. I hear ya. I have had a lot of similar situations in this industry too. It's a shame that people can't just help each other instead of pretending.

Al Stylo: I feel you.

Angela: Do you have any shout outs that you would like to give?

Al Stylo: Yes to my family especially Nahia, Lydia my mother, all my fam. All those people who always support me and believe in me and the haters too, don’t hate, create!
